Rapt in wraps

Forget the LBD or the perfect pair of jeans - the one item that every curvaceous woman should have in her wardrobe is a divine wrap dress.

Introduced to the fashion world in the 1970s by the legendary Diane von Furstenbeg, the iconic wrap dress is ideal for accentuating a sexy, hourglass figure.

If you’re curvy you just can’t go past a cross-over wrap dress with its flattering waist-cinching tie which beautifully accentuates a narrow waist, full bosom, and shapely hips.

Both retro and timeless, the wrap dress is ideal for work and play and can easily be dressed up or down for any occasion. And I’m speaking from experience as this CC has more than a few wrap dresses in her wardrobe!

In the words of Von Furstenberg herself, “feel like a woman, wear a dress.”

I’m Blushing!

I have long been a fan of Blush Body Spa in Leederville and their gift vouchers have saved me on more than a few occasions when presents have been left to the last minute. But sometimes you have to treat yourself too so, back in February, this CC booked a Hollywood Star Makeover and headed into the spa for 3 1/2 hours of pampering.

The package began with an eyebrow reshape to get into the swing of things before the real pampering began. Next up was a hair and beauty consultation to make sure that the Blush stylists knew exactly what I had in mind for my makeover.  After that, all I had to do was sit back and relax with a cold beverage whilst my transformation began with a full colour and some Sexy Peek a Boo highlights being applied. Whilst my hair was processing, my hands were given an overhaul with my fingernails being filed, buffed and polished to perfection. It was then time for my colour to come off and the treats continued with a Japanese scalp massage, shampoo, wash and hot towel treatment. My stylist then cut and re-textured my hair with a precision style before finishing my new look with an expert blow dry. And last but not least, I received a Blush Makeover using Blush’s very own mineral makeup.

But the best part was that this blissful experience valued at $488 only cost me $197. Now that’s what I call affordable luxury! The Hollywood Star Makeover Package special is now finished but have a look at Blush Body for their latest specials. And if its your first time at Blush you’ll even get a $25 gift voucher to welcome  you to the spa.  Enjoy….

TK Maxx: Credit Busting Bliss!

Our curvaceous connoisseur is currently in the UK to attend the Harrogate Lingerie & Swimwear Exhibition (more on that later…) and took the opportunity to visit her favourite designer outlet store, TK Maxx.

Given the current economic climate, it is more important than ever to buy high quality products that are going to last, which is where TK Maxx comes in by offering designer labels and brand name clothing at up to 60% off high street prices.

TK Maxx are able to keep their prices so low by taking a no frills approach to their store design. No fancy displays here. Everything is simply divided up into departments and then displayed on rails in sections like skirts, tops or jeans. Each rail is then divided up into sizes so that it is easy to find exactly what you’re looking for.

The products offered are often remaindered, returned and end of range products from top designers and famous label manufacturers and with new stock delivered daily, the stores are a veritable treasure trove for bargain hunters.

This CC has spent many a happy hour searching the racks for some terrific bargains  and thinks that TK Maxx is definitely worth a look if you are ever in this part of the world.
