When good mascara goes bad

I was travelling recently and needed to stock up on every woman’s must have, YSL Touche Éclat. I was lucky and also scored a free mascara with my purchase. I hadn’t used a YSL mascara before but, given how much I love Touche Éclat, I was expecting great things.

Initially it lived up to my expectations. I had never had such long, luscious lashes! The difference was noticeable. I was recommending the product to anyone who would listen so I was somewhat surprised when my friend D said that she had been disappointed with her YSL mascara and had found that it got gluggy very quickly.

Sadly, she was right. Within a few weeks of purchase the quality of the mascara had deteriorated so much that it was unusable and had to be discarded. I expected better of YSL and, given that D and I both experienced the same issue, it was clearly not an isolated incident. Has anyone else had the same problem?

Busting Out!
When I saw that Emma Powell and Bev Killick’s show, Busting Out!, was coming to Perth, I knew I had to blog about it - after all, how could I not with a name like that?!

For those of you who haven’t heard of it, Busting Out!’s official website invites you to:

Follow these two lubbily-jubbily ladies as they unleash their playful puppies and walk abreast down mammary lane. It’s an uplifting celebration of bouncy songs, wobbly jokes, thigh-slapping sketches, and of course, practical demonstrations of the fascinating lesser-known uses of your drooping assets. There have been no knockers amongst the critics as Busting Out! has toured Australia to sold out houses...”

AG Productions promises that Busting Out! will challenge long held notions of what breasts are for and what they can do and shows that there is far more to the humble boob than previously imagined.

Powell herself has been quoted as saying:

In this day and age the silicone enhanced, strategically placed appendage is admired for its beauty and image of perfection. Busting Out! takes real boobs and has alot of fun with those idealised wobbly bits of flesh that are sexy and alluring to some, nurturing and beautiful to others and just useful and funny to us!”

The show hasn’t started in Perth so I can’t review it just yet but its been running over East for some time and I’d love to hear from anyone who’s already caught it…

Everyone’s talking about…

…the fact that up to 40% of Australian women are a DD cup or bigger!

Whether that’s because breasts are getting bigger or more women are being properly fitted (we can live in hope!) is open for debate. But, here at Sablier, we’ve known for a long time that larger cup sizes are becoming more popular and it seems that the Sunday Telegraph agrees with us.

In an article published on 5 April the Telegraph talked about the most common problem that professional bra fitters are faced with - the fact that ladies with small back sizes and larger bust sizes almost invariably wear bras that are too big in the back and too small in the cup.  Take a look at our online fitting advice  to see if you are one of them.

The article also discussed the fact that having large breasts can discourage exercise, which is a problem that I myself used to have until I discovered the fabulous Enell sports bra . I simply cannot recommend this bra highly enough.  Give it a try and I can guarantee you’ll never look back.
